چکیده

Hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (HPS) in newborns is the one of most frequent causes vomiting that required surgery. During long period time, X-ray was main method for confirming diagnosis HPS, however after first reports about possibilities ultrasonography (US), this widely applied clinical practice. Purpose - to summarize own experience US applying diagnostic HPS; determining advantages and disadvantages examination. Materials methods. This study based on results 93 patients with HPS 27 children pylorospasm were observed treated Lviv regional children’s hospital 2009-2020 years. By measured thickness muscle, length, front-posterior (transverse) size, diameter orifice canal. Results evaluated by statistical program StatPlus: mac, AnalystSoft Inc. (version v8). Results. The muscle canal length are major criteria confirming/excluding diagnosis. measurement thickness, it necessary remember tangential position transducer muscles’ contraction can cause pseudo-thickening. According study, case 6.4±0.3 mm (a range 3-10 mm) no correlation nor duration illness (p=0.364) age child (p=0.534). In pylorospasm, which clinically simulate 3.02±0.1 mm, what significantly less compared infants (Student’s t-test 1.983; p=0.0000). ROC analysis, best markers its while shows moderate prognostic significance. Conclusions. Ultrasonographic examination makes possible establish a high degree reliability. A doctor, who performs suspected pylorostenosis, should be guided unchanged hypertrophy «pitfalls» know ways overcome them. research carried out accordance principles Helsinki Declaration. protocol approved Local Ethics Committee all participating institutions. informed consent patient obtained conducting studies.
